Way back then.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
fast forward to the present. I had the privilege of seeing my best friend from high school this weekend and meeting her family. It had been 16 years since we last saw each other. It was great to see you again! Thanks for going off the beaten path to stop by, we will definitely come see you guys sometime!
So we go out to eat and can you believe we picked the restaurant where clowns would be making balloon hats and face painting for free! How awesome is that! In case you can't tell Josh's hat is a dinosaur, which by the way was so much fun to sit next to and eat, I love to be poked in the face with a balloon 100 times as I try to eat. Michael's hat is a bug!
Just a few thoughts
It's that time of year again, summer is slowly fading away, school starts in three stinkin' weeks, and we are exhausted from the long days. This week Michael has been at VBS for three hours in the morning and Basketball camp for three hours in the evening. He is very tired and getting a little on the grumpy side :{ ***Josh is, well, just being Josh. He is the dare devil in the family, jumping off the couch and telling me "no worry mom, I just flyin" riding his tri-cycle down the driveway doing hot rod jumps telling me "you see that? that was cool!" He will be the child who keeps the hospital busy with broken bones and stitches. I'm just waiting for the day. ***
Barry's job keeps him away for a good part of the day so we miss having him around in the evenings. One added benefit will be once school starts he will be able to drop Michael off at school and I won't have to drive to school in my pajamas some days! ****
I'm recovering from my knee injury and I am very thankful for my knees with only minor pain. One day of having a knee/leg in extreme pain and not being able to walk made me realize how blessed I am to have two fully functioning knees/legs. ****
We had Dish Network hooked up yesterday so the boys are vegetables in front of the tv. After only having three channels to watch for seven months, who can blame them, besides I'm up half the night watching the Home and Garden channel. ****
So for the next few weeks we will be cramming in as much summer fun as we can, afternoons at the pool, zoo trips, and well some of us have to work a little! There's also haircuts, school supply shopping, ~shots~ (don't tell Michael) eye glasses to be fixed and new clothes to buy, this boy has grown a foot!
Save me Momma!
The leg he's wrapped around is mine. The reason for him placing a death grip on my leg is his big brother. They love to play a chasing game, running all through the house chasing each other. Josh will tease "come get me" and when Michael comes running Josh will scream and giggle. To hear them play together and laugh for a few minutes warms my heart and makes up for the hours of fighting with each other.
I found it!
and it only 3 or 30 boxes to look in.
Technical difficulties
I've been having some problems with my existing camera and the cord to upload pictures to the computer. It just ain't working. So I need to dig my old camera out of a box in the garage and upload pictures with it until I can get a new cord. If you don't hear from me in a few days I will have been crushed from the avalanche of boxes in the garage.
No. No. No.
It was not meant to be. I attempted to take the children swimming yesterday afternoon. After loading the car with children full of anticipation we arrive at pool #1 and see it is closed for swimming competitions. We hurry off to pool #2 (not the best pool in town), unload the car of children, towels, and various pool accessories, rush in to pay our dues and cool off. As I pay the young girl she kindly lets us know the "little pool" is closed for the rest of the day because someone vomited in the pool. Yeah! I continue inside trying to not think about vomit in the pool to find out that the other pool sans vomit is a 20ft deep diving pool!!!! Not going to work with a 3 yr old, and two 8 yr olds. Get rain checks because the pool doesn't do refunds, drag everyone and everything back to the car and go home. It just wasn't meant to be.
Flood
This park is about 3 or 4 blocks from our house. It is a large open field with several soccer fields. You can see in the second picture the very top of one of the soccer goals. On the far other side of the park is one of the major roadways in this town, the water reached up to the road but did not go over the road.
Happy Fourth of July....
Just a little early! Hope it's a good one, we will both be working while grandma enjoys the kids.
Rock Star in training!
We are putting on our hip waders and getting the boat ready! Or at least that's what I feel like. It has been a wet, soggy month. I feel like I'm going to mildew if the rain doesn't stop soon. There's severe flooding all around the area. For the last three years there has been drought and record dry summers, I move here and we have the wettest summer on record with floods! What's up with that! Anyway, the boys are going to go crazy if they can't get out and spend some dry time outside. The highlight of most days lately is playing in the rain showers. I just looked out the window and it's raining again. We have had rain for the last 22 days.
But life must go on and we are going to the mall to see the new Ratatouille movie (or however you spell it)!
