I had a bad day...

Yesterday was not such a great day. To begin with the tv in our bedroom was doing really weird things like changing channels by itself, then going to a blue screen and the power button wouldn't work. I unplugged it, let it rest and plugged it back in, it would work for awhile and then do the same thing. This happened to me about three times. Barry came home and plugged into another outlet (in the same place, we have a six plug outlet) and it has worked fine since. Go figure!



A little while later, Josh and I heard this really loud noise which I thought was our trash cans rolling down the street. Turns out it was thunder right before we had to go pick Michael up from school. Josh was terrified and held a death grip on me. We got in the car and left, it started to then drop buckets of rain, very heavy rain. The kind of rain, that you can't really see where you are going, even when your wipers are on high speed, well, I couldn't see anything when my WIPERS QUIT WORKING!!!XX@!#$%(*&%^$%) Luckily, I got to a gas station with just running over the curb. I get my cell phone out to call Barry to come and get Michael from school, I didn't know if it was going to stop raining soon, but my cell phone battery was DEAD!!$%@!#$%#^ I used the gas station phone, barry picked Michael up and it stopped raining.

To end my stroke of bad luck, I went to the dentist this morning and discovered I have several cavities between my teeth that need to be filled and one that may need to have a root canal!!#%$%!^$

!st day of 2nd grade

The school building opens at 8:30 am, Michael was dressed with backpack on, waiting by the door by 7:30 am. The wait almost killed him. He was so excited to see his friends. He said he wanted me to walk in the building with him, but as I walked along with Josh, Michael was 1/2 block in front of us. So here is a picture, every picture I took today his eyes were closed, so this is probably the best one.

Michaels first day of kindergarten August 2004

It's is soooo hard to believe that this was two years ago. I remember the day very clearly, his excitement, my nervousness. He waited all morning and kept asking what time is it? is it time to go yet? We were at the bus stop very early. I tried to video tape the walk down the street as I held in my tears. I took some pictures as he got on the bus and then cried all the way home. My little baby! Now it's not quite as hard to let him go. He is growing up to be a smart, kind, and responsible boy. I am very proud.

No pictures today...

because Josh is sick. Poor little guy woke up last night about 10:30 with very bad stomach cramps. He cried and cried, wouldn't let anybody touch his belly, and finally threw up after about 20 minutes and went back to sleep. When I laid him back in his bed, he said in a sleepy little voice, "mom, it no hurt" and he fell right to sleep. This morning I thought he would be fine because he got up and ate, but it wasn't long until the belly pain started again, so he has thrown up twice today and is now laying on the couch watching a movie. Nobody else is sick as of yet, but I'm sure this bug will make it's way through us all.

On the other hand, Michael starts school tomorrow. He went to a birthday party Saturday and got to see a few of his friends. Right now he is very excited for his upcoming birthday (55 days away) he has been making a list of things he wants for his birthday and making some birthday party plans. Yikes!
I will post some pictures tomorrow after he is off to school.

I have this sudden burst of creative blogging, so I'm calling this Flashback week. I'm going to be posting pictures from the past, it could be anybody so get ready to laugh!

Worst Mother of the year award goes to......

ME! I feel so horrible about what I did today. I took Michael and Josh with me to the flower and craft warehouse, I was getting the stroller out of the trunk and watching Josh climb in as I reached up to close the trunk without paying attention to Michael (who was leaning up against the car )and slam! the trunk came right down on his shoulder. I felt soooo horrible! He is okay, just a scratch on his shoulder and a new stuffed bear friend (plus sweater for the bear, bag for the bear, etc) to make it feel all better. Of course, Josh had to have a bear friend as well.

New trick

Josh discovered if you blow on the built in straw, the drink will shoot back out at you. Let's just say he was covered in Diet Pepsi.

Kidz Escape

We also went to kidz escape today. For those of you who don't live here, it's a company that makes outdoor play equipment and furniture. They have a large showroom where they have several pieces of play equipment that we can go play on for a small price. Today the boys were very brave and conquered some fears. Josh went down the biggest slide for the first time and discovered he loved it! Michael finally managed to go down the fire pole without falling flat on his face on the floor. As you can see they had a ball!

I absolutely love this little place. We fed the ducks, pot-bellied pigs, goats, rabbits, birds, donkeys, and the scottish cow named "Lucy". It is totally free to go, we just bring our bread and have a great time.

We are off to feed the ducks!

Again, we are going to feed the ducks. The boys absolutely love doing this. I never would have guessed that they would enjoy it so much.

2 weeks from today and school starts! Mr. Cool is a little worried about how hard 2nd grade will be. I tried to reassure him that even though it may be a little harder it will make him smarter in the end.

My neighbors dog has been taken over by aliens

My neighbor's dog loves to play catch with the frisbee. Well, last night we were hanging out in the backyard while the sun went down and I had my camera with me. I decided to get some pictures of the dog catching the frisbee. I thought I got a few really good shots and was shocked to see the dogs eyes when I downloaded the pictures. I think maybe she is an alien just using the dog look as a coverup.

Josh loves stickers, he loves to put stickers on himself. This is what he came out of the bedroom with yesterday, telling me "take picture me".

Feeding the ducks!

We enjoyed feeding the ducks so much, that we took the kids I babysit to feed the ducks. I bought two huge bags of rolls at Wal-mart and we feed the ducks along with the other animals. Josh has been asking if he can go feed the ducks again today. I think the ducks will need to go on a diet, soon.

Hayloft Candles & Flower and Craft warehouse

Today we enjoyed a trip to Hayloft Candles, where the boys enjoyed feeding ducks and a few other small animals. I enjoyed browsing the candle shop, with Josh picking up every single candle he could reach and smelling. If he wasn't smelling candles he was touching everything and saying "how pretty".
We ended the afternoon at the Flower and Craft warehouse where the boys saw the huge pink/purple trees. The shop has a huge Christmas shoppe, that I love to visit. It puts me in the mood for Christmas.

3 weeks from today and School starts!

I am looking forward to school starting. It will just bring some routine calmness back into our life. This summer has been a crazy one with a lot of emotional highs and lows. I will enjoy the quietness of the day, yet miss Michael. I am looking forward to going back to MOPS and seeing lots of friends. I love the start of another school year, it brings back wonderful memories of my childhood, shopping for school clothes, fresh notebooks and unsharpened pencils. I always liked going to school and I hope that my kids enjoy school.

(Wiping sweat off my brow) I am tired!

I have been cleaning out this past week and today we had a garage sale. It turned out very well and I sold alot of stuff! I can't believe how much stuff one small family can accumulate over a few years. Garage sales are so much work and leave me wiped out. I am taking the night off and probably won't do much tomorrow either.

I haven't taken many pictures lately, partly because of the heat. It is so freaking hot that it just makes me want to do nothing. Just ask michael. Now that kyle is not here everyday, he has been a little bored. I am no longer mediating arguments about whose bug is bigger and better or who gets to go first, but now have Michael complaining about there is nothing to do. And since the heat makes me not want to do anything, I can't take pictures inside my house and post the mess that would be in the background.
I am praying for a cold front, right now, I don't care if it snows!
