Bling!

Barry brought home this outfit and shoes from work. One of the Vietnamese ladies at work is always giving us things. She has two boys who are a little older. This outfit is the Chinese version of Power Rangers. And the shoes, I don't know if you can see in the picture but the shoes are metalic shiny, silver.
The outfit (shirt, shorts, and shoes) are Michaels size but he was not very interested in them. Josh was immediately mesmerized by them and wore the shoes and shirt all night.
A stinger of a day!
This picture doesn't really go with what I'm posting about, but I thought I would go ahead. Last week Michael came inside jumping around and said he was stung by a bee. His first bee sting ever. He didn't even cry. But today I decided to take the kids to a big park since the weather was so nice (77 for a high), anyway we hadn't been there just a few minutes and Michael got stung again by a wasp. He was very upset this time. By the time we got home he had stopped crying, but he now claims this is the worst summer ever.
We will now be on the watch out for bees and wasp!

Cars!

We finally saw the Cars movie a couple of weeks ago. Josh fell asleep the last 15 minutes or so, but he constantly talks about the car movie.
It has now become an obession with my kids. Michael picked out a Cars backpack, pencils and folders for school, we ate at McDonalds I don't know how many times to get the Car toys and now this is our latest addition to our Car collection. We found the only two die cast cars at Target yesterday.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

What's happened today!
First, I think I am suffering from summer meltdown, but I have to move on. Kyle's mom just informed me today that next week will be his last week here, because she is going to be on vacation for one week and then she will be putting him in the afterschool program to get adjusted before school starts. I am thrilled!!!!!!! You don't know how excited I am about that. I'm doin the happy dance!! Baby sitting full time just gets to be a hassle. He didn't like to go and do fun things like my kids do and it really just limited our schedule. Plus Michael and him were starting to not get along very well. Now we will have the month of August to go and do as we please!
The other thing that happened today is Michaels dentist appointment. Did you know that sometimes adult teeth are missing from certain peoples mouth? The dentist did an x-ray on Michael's bottom teeth and he does not have an adult tooth under one of the baby teeth left on the bottom. That means that we will have to eventually go to the orthodontist and he will probably have to have braces to pull all the teeth together so it doesn't look like he is missing a tooth. Poor kid!

Swimming
Josh has acquired a fascination with Superman lately. Or as he calls it "Wuperman". I'm not sure where this came from because Michael isn't a huge Superman fan, and we don't really watch Superman cartoons. But lately Josh keeps bringing me blankets, and towels to tuck in the back of his shirt for Superman. Today while we played in the pool, he stood on my lap, stretched out those little toddler arms and yelled "GOOOOO, WUUUPER MAN" as he jumped off my lap. He probably did this about 50 times at least. Josh, you can be my super hero anyday!

backyard swimming

We discovered that our old (big) pool has a hole somewhere and we can't find it to patch up. So I bought this blow up pool at K-mart a few days ago and now we are swimming in the backyard once again. This pool is very colorful and has windows to look through. If you can't tell Michael is underwater holding his nose, while I am on the outside taking the picture.
MY PHILOSOPHY OF HOUSECLEANING!
I don't do windows because ... I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.
I don't wax floors because... I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible (plus they may sue me).
I don't mind the dust bunnies because ... They are very good company, I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.
I don't disturb cobwebs because... I want every creature to have a home of their own.
I don't Spring Clean because ... I love all the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous.
I don't pull weeds in the garden because ... I don't want to get in God's way, he is an excellent designer.
I don't put things away because ... My husband will never be able to find them again.
I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because ... I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when they invite me over for dinner.
I don't iron because... I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press."
I don't stress much on anything because ... "A Type" personalities die young and I want to stick around and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' woman!!!!

I haven't taken many pictures the last few days, it's just been a few blah! days. Not that anybody is sick, it just seems we have all been in a bad mood. Maybe it's the let down from having family visit. We were so busy when my mom and dad were here, it's hard to settle back into that everyday routine.
We also have a busy few days since Michael has started swimming lessons and I am working at the store three nights this week. I'll try to capture a few pictures if I can.
Have a wonderful week!

Mad scientist at work
My boys love to make experiments as they call them, but I refer to them as messes. Today I let them make their experiments and they had a blast! I even had fun adding all sorts of stuff, like salt, pepper, food coloring, koolaid, and just about anything else in my cabinents. Now they are outside to see what nature has to add to the experiments while I clean up the mess. It was fun while it lasted.

Lucky Ducks

This is Josh's newest game. His speech therapist brought it to play last week
and he just loved it. I looked at Wal-mart and the game was almost $20 brand new. We love to go to Goodwill, we got lucky and found the complete Lucky Ducks game the last trip. We just had to buy new batteries and the game only cost $1.97.
Josh loves his Lucky Ducks!!
Travel Update
Mom and Dad left yesterday morning. Mom left a message at 6:30 this morning saying they were in VA and Dad wanted to go to Randys and the handle factory so that is where they are off to now.
We had such a great visit. We were all very sad to see them go home. We did so much in just a few days that we(the boys and me) need a week just to recover from all the excitement. Anyway now its back to everyday life.

Goin' to the Outhouse!
The outhouse here in Lancaster, PA is a great shop with many jokes and funny stuff. One of the employees carried around a realistic looking chicken asking everyone if you wanted to pet a real chicken, when you reach out to pet the chicken, she makes a loud chicken noise and scares everybody. Dad just about had a run away! Josh and grandma had to go find a more quiet place in the store because Joshua did not like it. It also has all kinds of joke and gag gift items to buy.
Christmas in July
