Barnstormers Baseball game
Last night we watched the Lancaster Barnstormers play baseball. Of course the highlight of the night for the kids was to see the mascot Cylo. We just missed getting his autograph. Josh did really well until the last inning and then he kept asking to go home. There was a fireworks show after the game and I realized that Josh does not like fireworks either. Two people from our group (cubscouts) actually won prizes.

Cub Scouts

Here's a couple of pictures from Cub Scouts last night. They are playing a game called pack your bag. Each team member had to put on some of Barry's clothes and run back to their team. Michaels team won! It was fun to watch. Tonight is Michael's first baseball practice and both of them are very excited! I'll try and post some of those pictures later.

Nature

Josh loves nature, he loves to pick flowers, hold bugs, and wants to hold the birds and rabbits. The other day I found him three yards over and michael was running after him to stop him. Michael said he was chasing after a rabbit. Yesterday, I watched from a distance as he talked to a bird, telling him "come here, bird, I hold you". These are the memories I want to hold onto forever.

A word to the wise

If you plan on taking flowers from your neighbors yard, do it quickly! It's not like my neighbor has a beautifully landscaped yard, in fact these two (the only two flowers in his yard) lovely flowers were on the side of his house among leaves, and grass. I have been thinking about picking them for a week now so, today Josh and I were out and I did, the neighbors weren't home, but wouldn't you know as soon as I picked them and started to walk away, she pulled up in the driveway. I'm sure she saw the flowers, and I was going to apologize, but she was on her cell phone. Just call me the flower thief!

ABC's

I finally got Josh to sing his ABC's!!!!!!! I've been working on getting him to sing for awhile and the only song he would sing was the Wheels on the Bus. For Christmas, he got a Leap Frog ABC magnet set that sings the ABC song and makes the sound of each letter. For the longest time when I turned the song on he would come running and turn it off. Finally tonight, he turned the ABC song on and started to sing!!!! I was so thrilled!! Here's an old picture but one of my favorites.

and the rest of the day.

Well the rest of my day did not go so bad, although on my way to MOPS this morning I got stuck in backed up traffic due to a wreck. I cut my way through and got off on the back roads, probably caused a few people to curse me, but I was running late. I have to share with ya'll the eggs that I decorated for Easter. I saw the idea on Martha Stewart to wrap eggs in old silk ties, boil in a mix of water and vinegar and the print from the tie transfers to the egg. So cool!
Note to self:
Check and double check the lid on the bead container. I didn't plan on spending the morning picking up a thousand tiny beads. Hope the rest of the doesn't go like this.

A Sunny Spring Day
Today, the boys were very slow to get going. Joshua didn't even ask to go "outwide" until at least 11 am. Most mornings he is asking to go outside by 8 am. I spent the morning moving the computer and desk from our bedroom to the kitchen area. Now, I can work late on the computer and not bother Barry while he is sleeping and watch what I want on TV. We went this afternoon to collect some free stuff that I got from freecycle. In case you aren't familiar, freecycle.org is a website where people give away stuff that they no longer need or want. Today we went to pick up some leftover items from a garage sale. There wasn't a lot of things I really liked, but Michael found a nice pin ball machine. It's a little weird going to a stranger's house and picking up their junk, but everybody I've met so far has been really nice. This evening we will watch Deal or No Deal, even Joshua enjoys saying "NO DEAL"

Eggs, and Green fingers
Josh and Michael colored some eggs
today. Most of Josh's eggs ended up in
pieces, he didn't quite understand
that these eggs break when all the
plastic eggs don't. Michael spent most of the time trying to keep his eggs away from Josh's hands.
We later went to the grocery store and while we were checking out the young girl said, "Have you been coloring eggs today?" I asked her "What ever gave you that idea?" She said, "Green fingers"
Thanks
Thanks for the comments! I made a few changes, but I think I am finally happy with the layout of my blog. We have had a nice weekend so far, Michael has three days off from school (Thurs, Fri, and Monday) so we are keeping busy. This morning was garage sales, and this afternoon is painting and coloring eggs. I will post so pictures later tonight.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!

Baseball season is upon the Miller House
3 ways you can tell baseball season has started at the Miller House
1. Barry is wearing his Phillies hat or one of his many Phillies t-shirts every evening.
2. Sunflower seeds
3. Michael is asking "Mom, where's my baseball glove?"
It is officially spring training in our backyard.

Music...
is a huge thing at our house. Michael is always singing songs and Josh loves to make music with the toy instruments we have. Josh came running to me while I was at the computer, telling me "Music, mom, Music come on", I followed him to find he had been playing with blocks and had lined blocks up to look like piano keys. He then proceeded to play music and sing with his block piano.....I can hear his beautiful song in my heart.
